This year’s theme for the 9th International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) is all about inventors and innovators. Celebrating the amazing work that women engineers around the world are doing to support lives and livelihoods every day.
Supporting a career in engineering
Courtney joined MechTronic just over three years ago as an apprentice. Showing great determination, she completed her studies through a mix of onsite leaning and college work. Upon completion, Courtney was promoted to Production Engineer, where she now manages her schedule and builds anything from AddTanks to our innovative electronic metering system, OptiMate.
Courtney said: “I enjoy working within an engineering environment. Every day is different, and I would recommend this career path to others!
“Friends often think that being an engineer is all grease and dirt but it’s nothing like that. I build highly technical products that bring real benefits to our customers. I also like the fact that I am following in my dad’s engineering footsteps – I have found that being able to share this with him on a professional and personal level is very rewarding.”

Proud to support International Women in Engineering Day
As a manufacturing and engineering company, we have several other women working across the business. Rachel coordinates the service engineers, Vicky manages the accounts, Emma supports our sales and marketing. As a family business we are proud of our whole team and are delighted to be able to support and celebrate INWED.
