The drive towards a greener fuel delivery
As a new decade starts, the wider environmental impact and its effect on climate change remains a concern for the fuel oil operative and the wider industry.
Whilst consumers are divided on the issue of climate change and despite efforts to reduce consumption of oil and gas, the industry predicts UK demand in 2035* will be significantly more than the UK could produce. Across the industry, fuel oil operatives are undertaking measures to reduce their carbon footprint and meet changing fuel demands by delivering CORD fuel to their customers.
At MechTronic we too are mindful of our environmental footprint and are investing in green efficiencies within our organisation and more widely that support fuel oil operatives and the issues they face. With this in mind, we have been able to deliver more environmentally friendly products that can help achieve a greener fuel delivery.
AddFlow: A fuel additive injection system for the road tanker
MechTronic’s AddFlow enables fuel oil operatives to upgrade their base products (as required) with additive to deliver a greener fuel to their customers. With a bonded stainless-steel design, AddFlow provides complete protection for drivers as they do not encounter the product as the volume of additive required for a delivery is automatically calculated and injected at the point of delivery.
AddFlow is available as a single 20litre tank or a 40litre tank (consisting of 2x20litre tanks) and is completely isolated from any tanker chassis movement. With a unique design, any additive can be added, and its contents are automatically printed on the delivery receipt.
In addition, OptiMate, our electronic fuel metering system delivers fuel efficiently and with our latest remote control, once a delivery is completed, the engine can be remotely switched off and emissions reduced.
Whilst these may offer minor environmental benefits, it does go toward everyone making small changes that can work towards the UK achieving its carbon neutral goal by 2050.
