MechTronic, a leading UK manufacturer of road tanker systems, announces the successful launch of its innovative OptiMate electronic metering system in the United States. The inaugural U.S. installation was showcased at the CFCA – California Fuels and Convenience Alliance Summit 2025, marking a significant milestone for the company and its strategic partners.

A strategic adaptation for the U.S. market

The expansion into the U.S. market represented a unique engineering challenge. To ensure a seamless adaptation, MechTronic collaborated with its U.S. distributor, TankTroniks Inc., and leading tank builder, Depot Connect International (DCI), for the first-ever installation on an American tanker.

OptiMate in America

Pioneering partnerships and unparalleled benefits

Brad Wilkie, Managing Director of MechTronic, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, “The U.S. represents a huge opportunity for our technology. This project was a true test of our ability to adapt and innovate, and the successful launch is a testament to the hard work of our engineering team and the invaluable partnership with TankTroniks and DCI. Together, we are committed to helping the American industry enhance efficiency and reliability by providing a robust solution that delivers.”

The OptiMate system is designed to provide complete accuracy and eliminate the risk of product cross-contamination. Its self-draining manifold and automated processes ensure the integrity of every delivery. In working with our U.S. partner, we have added prevention measures that extend beyond the delivery nozzle. These integrations ensure that the right product is delivered to the correct customer tank, preventing costly errors.

This level of confidence is a benefit already recognised by U.S. distributor Merit Oil, the first company to utilise the system, with the sale of the tanker being driven by Depot Connect International (DCI).

The future of fuel delivery

This debut marks a key step in MechTronic’s global expansion strategy. The company is poised to continue its growth in the U.S., offering a solution that not only meets but exceeds the demands of the modern fuel distribution industry.
