Dundalk Oil serves the North East of Ireland and in August 2020, took delivery of their first OptiMate – this was also the first on the road in Ireland itself!

The tank was built by Road Tankers Armagh and Barry Finlay at Dundalk Oil said: “We are delighted to be the first fuel oil operative within Ireland to be out delivering with OptiMate. We chose OptiMate as we liked the automatic processes it offers. Drivers have already commented on how easy the system is to use, and how they are able to make deliveries quicker due to the automatic line change.” As an electronic metering system, the system is built to last and reliable.

As part of the tanker specification, VisiLevel was added to the build as Barry wanted to protect drivers and reduce the need for them to climb on top of the tanker. Barry said: “I liked that VisiLevel limits the need for tank top interrogation, drivers can clearly see the product type and quantity that is in each compartment from the ground.”
