As a fossil-free fuel, HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a low carbon, drop-in diesel replacement product made from 100% renewable waste, residues and vegetable oil and can help reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared with conventional diesel. It is natural to see why end users and our customers are moving towards demanding greener fuel options.
Greener fuel deliveries with HVO and OptiMate
At MechTronic we understand the pressure fuel oil operatives are under to deliver multiple fuel grades to a wide range of customers, all in a timely manner. It was from this understanding that OptiMate was designed – now as fuel oil operatives look to diversify into other sectors, particularly in delivering HVO, our customers can continue to deliver with OptiMate across their fleet whilst increasing the safety and quality of the product being delivered.
Our customers frequently deliver multiple grade fuel. OptiMate’s fuel contamination prevention measures ensure that when a driver needs to perform a line change, the metering system will automatically perform the pre-determined volume required, rather than the driver. This process ensures that OptiMate will automatically determine that the correct line change volumes are always used, regardless of the fuel delivery – preventing costly mistakes and the potential for driver errors.
In addition, the OptiMate electronic metering system can be fully controlled remotely by our ProControl 3 remote providing further environmental benefits. Drivers can be at the point of delivery and remotely stop a delivery, should an overspill be about to occur, saving valuable seconds as they simply do not need to return to the vehicle to perform this function. In addition, the fuel tanker can also be controlled by the remote and the engine turned off, reducing harmful emissions.
