Craggs Energy driven to deliver with OptiMate!

Craggs Energy have been supplying homes, farms and businesses for twelve years with two delivery depots spread across Lancashire and Yorkshire.

Craggs Energy are proud to be an independent business that is employee-owned and focused on the local area that it serves, with its latest truck featuring its original roots of its hometown of The Piece Hall, Halifax on its livery.

How does OptiMate support Craggs Energy?

In October, Craggs Energy took delivery of their first OptiMate electronic metering system and their second in January 2023, with another four due later this year.

Craggs Energy made the decision to move to OptiMate as they could see the benefits that the automatic processes could deliver for their business. In addition, aftercare was also important, should anything go wrong, Craggs naturally wanted to ensure that support was available.

Local support and onsite training

At MechTronic, we pride ourselves on providing that local support when customers need it, with support engineers geographically split across the UK, we can provide that local service. In addition, with each OptiMate that is sold, our team will provide hands-on training and accompany drivers out on their deliveries, ensuring that drivers feel comfortable with the system.

Ben Firth, Sales Engineer at MechTronic accompanied John, a driver at Craggs Energy in January this year. After an initial introduction to the system, they went out on the road to make their scheduled customer visits. Ben said: “The weather was not kind to us that day, it was pouring with rain but as I talked John through the automatic compartment procedure, he couldn’t believe how much easier, and safer OptiMate was.”

For this delivery, I couldn’t believe it when Ben said all I needed to do, was stay at the top of the ladder and keep the hose in the tank and that the system would automatically change over to the next compartment, without me having to move, what a game changer!”
