Prince Petroleum recently upgraded its fleet adding MechTronic’s OptiMate system. David Prince, Managing Director at Prince Petroleum said: “We wanted a system to avoid the incidence of product contamination on vehicles that operate daily with mixed product grades. Typically making between 15-18 small deliveries a day, meaning that the incidence of contamination while making a line change remains a risk.
“Clearly, we are a business with its own procedures to manage this risk but, a system that claims to remove that risk completely must be of benefit to the operator and, of course, such a system also takes some of the pressure off drivers, must be welcome.
“We took delivery of OptiMate in December 2017 and have been using this system since the beginning of 2018. We are now able to make fast deliveries and thanks to its self-draining manifold, we are able to save, on average, up to 325l of fuel each week – delivering significant savings to our business.”
This case study was first published in 2018. Since then Prince Petroleum have further invested in another five OptiMate systems to support their fleet.
